A BUILDING SURVEY

What Is It?

This report is customised to clients' individual requirements, with the object of providing an assessment of the construction and condition of the property as well as offering technical advice on problems and remedial works.

What Does It Cover?

It advises in greater detail on the general construction of the property and its stability, as well as the need to carry out urgent repairs and other potential expenditure. It will give advice as to the seriousness of defects listed and possible remedies. A building survey does not generally include a valuation, although this can be included if required.

A Building Survey is suitable for all residential properties and provides a full picture of their construction and condition. It is likely to be needed if the property is, for example, of unusual construction, is dilapidated or has been extensively altered - or where a major conversion or renovation is planned. A Building Survey is more comprehensive than a Homebuyer Report and includes extensive technical information on construction and materials as well as details of the whole range of defects, major to minor.
