Description
A historic site Gilfach Quarry is located in woodland, 27.5 acres approximately. It constitutes a series of shallow workings and has been operating since at least the later nineteenth century. Although the product was of variable quality, the slate was valued for its green colour and used on many historic buildings, local houses and churches. Above the face is a 2.5 acre field which is currently let on an annual basis to a neighbouring farm. The Eastern Cleddau runs along one boundary with fishing rights.
